Can you imagine being the person who choses which pictures become the iconic photos of our time? That is David Griffin’s job. From the picture of the Afghan girl, to a haunting shot of a poached elephant this Ted Talk is nothing short of iconic. David Griffin is the photo editor of National Geographic, so when I came across this talk last night and I couldn’t sleep because of the coffee I had at 8:30 with Summer and Mike and I thought this would be a great video to share.
He says photos create connections across the globe. I’m connected to what the world is doing, what they are experiencing and that little comment box brings me into a conversation with a person thousands of miles away. And that is what photography does it connects us to a point in time, an event, a person, a feeling.
