I woke up on the day of Kristina and Adam’s wedding and immediately bee-lined it to the window. The weather today was important and the forecast did not look good. Grey clouds hovered in the sky as I packed my cameras into the car and began my drive to Alliston Ontario. Kristina and Adam’s wedding ceremony was to take place in the yard Adam grew up in and I had my fingers crossed the rain would hold out. The reception was to be held at the Gibson Centre and I knew no matter what the weather I could definitely do portraits on the third floor there but Adam was arriving in a canoe and like the couple I had my heart set on staying outside. Below is just a taste of some of the Alliston wedding photography that went on July 7th of this year. It would be impossible to contain everything that happened in a single blog post.
From the canoe arrival to the wedding ceremony, to the heart felt speeches I felt to lucky to be a part of Adam and Kristina’s day. I crouched in the middle of the aisle that morning and held my camera on my lap waiting for the minister to finish his speech. I hear a new one every week, and I normally take a break from the clicking of the camera so that everyone can feel in the moment. I don’t often expect to be taken in the moment as well. I sat like a guest, listened carefully and really felt truly honoured to be a part of a new start in someones life.
And so I hope these pictures do the day justice, a new start and a few great memories. What weddings are all about.
