Mississauga South Asian Wedding Photographer | Nitole + Ashraf
My car had four inches of snow on it as I lugged my gear into Nitole’s parents home. Winter boots and wet socks filled the entrance way, as they do in Toronto after a snowstorm. Family milled around the split level house sharing mango smoothies, and stories of the trek home from the Hulud the night before. It was the second day of Nitole and Ashraf’s wedding celebrations and the storm was at its height as we all left Mississauga twelve hours prior.
I walked into Nitole and Ashraf’s South Asian wedding not knowing what to expect, but with friendly, and now familiar faces I felt silly for being intimidated by a new set of traditions and circumstances. Nitole was upstairs getting ready, and she was patient with me as she explained how today would work. Eric was already downstairs with his video equipment, and soon enough Nitole joined Ashraf on the couch in the living room; Their wedding ceremony underway.
Eric’s video from the day which you can watch here pulled all three days together perfectly and inspired this post to be more of a compilation of smaller stories that happened over the course of the three days we shot together rather than the three days in exact chronological order. A montage you could say.
