December came faster than I could have imagined this year, and here I am sitting back in Ontario with a drip coffee (surprisingly not that popular in other parts of the world) going through my photography trying to sum 2012.
In October I packed up my little car filled with snacks and a brand new playlist and headed east to Montreal to visit my sister. My road trip partner and best friend Samantha and I drove through Toronto, Whitby, Oshawa, Kingston, eventually Cornwall and then passed the border into Quebec. We had an incredible time. We visited and caught up with my sister, joked through downtown Montreal and went to a show.
I came home two days after I left to my home in Guelph, so pumped about Montreal. I said to my roommate “Montreal was the best weekend this month!” to which she replied “You must have had a good year.”
And there is no other way to sum it up. Almost every weekend this summer I was able to work for the most incredible couples. They put together weddings that are about family, and friends, and each other. The exact type of weddings I want to photograph. I’ve been lucky enough to have traveled across the ocean twice to visit Asia, and had the pleasure of exploring my own country, Canada as well. My work has been featured online multiple times and I’ve worked so hard to improve my craft as a photographer. I really can’t be thankful enough for my friends, to other photographers, and to the couples who have really forced me to push the boundaries this year.
And now we are just a few days away from the 2013. New beginnings and new adventures. Already 2013 is shaping up to be incredible. I have met with couples that I can’t wait to see what they have in store, I have new and exciting business goals, and a few little travel plans brewing in the back of my brain. So I’ll leave you with some of my favourite images of the year, a mix of some wedding and travel work from the collection.
