The Love Competition.

I don’t know when I started reading about the brain. It must have been after a discovery channel evening long ago when I watch electric signals on MRI scans light up the screen.

It was fascinating. I was fascinated.

How the brain works, how we control our feelings, and actions well it is staggering and so very human.

So when I stumbled upon this little Love Competition I thought, “how very fitting”. My love for the brain, and my love for love in one place.

It is completely worth the 15 minute watch so go ahead.

Click Play.

Because I’m going to ramble on about it below the video, and I don’t want to spoil anything.

What I think is the best part of the video is the ten year old who loves his baby cousin and – SPOILER ALERT – comes second in the competition. I think it is just a wonderful reminder that love doesn’t need to be thought of as just romantic. Love for your family and friends is just as important.

In the last wedding I was lucky enough to photograph family played a larger role in the multiple day ceremonies and traditions than in many of the weddings I’ve shot. The feeling was different, the day even though it was about Nitole and Ashraf was also about the support of their relationship from their parents, siblings and closest cousins. It was a wonderful few days, and though I’m sure you will see a few more from this wedding in the future here is a few photos that really hope exemplify what I mean.
