We drove around Go-Slow-Bend slowly, aptly named for sea side safety precautions. The road hugged the ocean tightly to our left, and to our right the sun washed houses stood strong, hurricane shutters framing the windows, walls painted in every colour that you could possibly imagine in a baby’s room. The air conditioning gurgles under an electric hum, driving the damp heat from our salted air. Jason rolls down the window, and Shaz sitting beside me on our ride from the airport into Nassau smiles at my smile.
And it was in that smile, that moment, I think I realized the true allure of a destination wedding.
There is something very special about sharing a place that you love, with the people that you love.
Nassau, Bahamas is a place that is easy to love. Shaz and Jason both light up when they speak of it, and to share the delight of turquoise shores, and a meal of fresh sea food with family and the closest of friends, is in its simplicity, completely magic.
Shaz and Jason, thank you from the bottom of the Caribbean sea for having me along, and allowing me to share in your delight for the Bahamas and for each other.
